This Earth Month, UNIQ continues its eco-conscious journey with Plastic Bank by launching a new impact programme on its ecommerce site. From 1 April 2026 through 30 April 2026, every purchase on UNIQBETTERBYDESIGN.COM helps recover 250 plastic bottles from the environment.
The programme doesn’t just protect the planet—it turns plastic waste into impact, supports communities with meaningful income, and drives responsible plastic choices. In partnership with collection centres in Indonesia and the Philippines, UNIQ empowers local communities while taking accountability for its plastic footprint and helping keep oceans clean.
Plastic Bank shows how one person’s determination can unite communities to create meaningful change. By collecting plastic waste and transforming it into Social Plastic® feedstock, the initiative gives old plastic a second life in new products and packaging—proving that both people and materials have lasting value.
Before the pandemic, Asnaini worked at a craft store in Bali. During the pandemic, the business had to shut down, and she struggled to make ends meet.
Near her house, there is a Plastic Bank collection branch. She gathered the courage to ask the branch owner how she could collect recyclable materials to earn some money. The branch owner kindly explained the process, and she began her journey as a plastic collection member.
Since then, she has been able to rent land and build a simple house with her husband. Her son helps her collect plastic after graduating from high school. Her husband works as a construction worker, and her daughter is finishing vocational school to become a pharmacist.
She is proud to collect plastic as it helps clean the environment while providing for her family and hoping for a brighter future for her children.
